The Easy Peezy Tea Party - Teapots, Teacups, and Lemonade! Oh, my!

Of course, the main attraction to any tea party is TEA!

Presentation regarding how to serve your tea is the key.

Please choose your theme, and it doesn't have to be fancy unless you want it to be. You can find teapots as well as teacups, and even sets of china, at thrift stores, auctions, estate sales, or yard sales. This is the EASY PEEZY tea party, so whatever you do, keep it easy.

You don't need an actual teapot. A pretty pitcher will do the trick. Fun cups will also do the trick. One party we had years ago had white everything-white paper cups, white paper tablecloth, and white paper napkins, and it was an ART tea party where everyone had to draw on their cups and on the tablecloth with markers and crayons BEFORE food was served. It was so fun to see everyone's 'artwork,' smiley faces, and games of tic, tac, toe or connect the dots!

It really doesn't matter what you serve your tea in or with, but make it a conversation starter, make it a memorable experience, and make it something your guests will want to attend again. Do you HAVE to tell your guests you are pouring tea from a teapot that was found at a thrift store? Absolutely not. Feel free to tell them it crossed the Atlantic on the Titanic and was smuggled into a lifeboat, or that it traversed the country via covered wagon tucked safe in a barrel of corn flour. Whatever. Every piece I have has a story. Feel free to use your imagination to create your own just as you create a fun, memorable Easy Peezy Tea Party!

If your party is near a pool or any place where people will be barefoot, please use plastic serving dishes. You can get many themed plastic fun cups and pitchers at discount stores. Yes, make it Easy Peezy, make it fun, but please keep it safe.

You don't need a tea cart. I happened to win this one! A small table or a TV tray decorated with a pretty cloth and some sparkling confetti or a small vase of flowers or a pretty bowl filled with chocolates (or all 3!) will be noticeable. Please use care if lighting real candles.

Another trick to decorating a small table is to stack your teacups. It takes no effort and looks pretty. You can even stack them on your counter.

Now, some people say, "A tea party? But I don't like tea." It's true, not everyone drinks tea. Not everyone likes tea. Some people just don't like it hot. If that's the case, this is where one of the cute mason jar glasses with ice and a fun straw solves the problem. You can also offer other alternatives such as coffee or lemonade. During the American Revolution, in protest to the high tax on tea, Colonists enjoyed 'Tealess Tea Parties' where lemonade was served. Here is an unusual Easy Peezy creamy lemonade recipe that's Delicious! Enjoy!
