Winter can feel like it lasts forever. What better way to break up the doldrums, stay warm and have a little fun than with an Easy Peezy Tea Party.

And who says Tea Parties are confined to the formal dining room? No one at the Easy Peezy Tea Party. There's nothing wrong with setting up a small table with a pretty cloth in front of the fireplace where you and your guests can be warm and cozy.

Use all the blue dishes you have. You can also light blue candles.

For your first course, why not enjoy cinnamon/sugar scones. Not everyone likes scones, and a good substitute is a buttery biscuit made with biscuit mix and milk. You can cut these into any shape that makes you happy. Sprinkle the tops with cinnamon/sugar mixture prior to baking. Enjoy with honey butter.

If you feel like the spring warm-up can't come fast enough, make your second course a springtime sandwich such as cucumber and tomato sandwiches with dill spread on rye bread. Dill Spread: Mix the night before and allow to chill over night: 2 TBS sour cream, 2 TBS mayonnaise, 1 tsp dill, 1/2 tsp minced onion. Be sure to slice the cucumbers and tomatoes extra thin.

Of course, your third course should be something sweet and here is something that makes us think of warm, summer weather! Chocolate covered strawberries.

Another small Easy Peezy thing you can do to warm up and add beauty to

your table: Wrap your utensils in a napkin with a blue ribbon.

The perfect tea to pour to chase away the winter blues: Earl Gray. Serve with brown sugar, or honey, and cream.

Enjoy!

And for the right tablecloth, use a quilt made by your mother.
